How you can help

We very much hope that you will consider making a gift to our Appeal.

Tax efficient giving

As a registered charity, we can reclaim tax at the basic rate on all donations made by tax payers under the Gift Aid scheme. This increases the value to the Appeal and decreases the cost to the donor. With the basic rate of tax at 20%, the Appeal receives £25 for every £100 you donate, at no extra cost to you. A higher rate tax payer receives other benefits. Donations of shares, land and buildings, are extremely tax effective. It is also possible to give through a Trust, a Company or through a legacy. Spread your Giving

Spreading your giving over four years helps to make a larger gift affordable and the Appeal to predict income. You can do this by downloading and completing a Four year pledge form. This table shows how the monthly payments add up.

Single Gifts

If a four year pledge is not possible, we also welcome pledges over shorter periods and single gifts. If you are a taxpayer, please download the Gift Aid form for single gifts which will allow us to reclaim tax.

Companies

Although we cannot reclaim tax on company donations, a company can set the value of its donation, whether covenanted or lump sum, against corporation tax liability.  For a company paying corporation tax at 21%, the net cost of a donation worth £10,000 to the Appeal, could be only £7,900.  If you are able to donate through a company, this may be the most tax-efficient way of giving.
